Welcome to Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado.
In 2020, we made a commitment to the community of Northern Colorado to found a school worthy of the title of an American classical education—an education that befits the citizens of the United States and the local communities that form this nation. I want to thank you for choosing us as your partner in the education of your children. It is a partnership we do not take lightly, and we work hard to earn the trust you have placed in us.
The mission of Ascent Classical Academy is to train the minds and improve the hearts of our students through a classical, liberal arts education, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue, all within an orderly and disciplined environment.
The goal of a classical, liberal arts education is to equip students with the tools necessary to work toward fulfilling their purpose: to live a good life. To lead such a life, one must cultivate a thoughtful mind, a virtuous soul, and the ability to form meaningful human relationships. A classical, liberal arts education, therefore, directs students toward understanding what it means to be human and how to live a life that serves higher purposes. In doing so, this education remains true to its name, offering freedom: freedom from ignorance and vain pursuits unworthy of time and affection.
Such pursuits can only be achieved under the guidance of those who have traveled farther down the path than our students—those who can point them toward these higher purposes, provide support, and model what the pursuit of a good life looks like. Their care and dedication inspire students to cultivate proper affection: to seek truth, to defend and preserve what is good, and to love what is beautiful.
But a school cannot achieve this alone. We need the involvement of parents, community members, and like-minded organizations to come together to pass down the heritage we have received as Americans to the next generation.
I invite you to join us in the essential work of raising up young men and women who will one day take up this heritage in our stead when we are no longer here to defend and preserve it. If we do not, who will?
Thank you again for your support.
With Gratitude,
Trent Kramer

Education Philosophy
The end of a classical, liberal arts education is to give students the tools necessary to work towards the fulfillment of their purpose. In order for a student to live a good life, they need to be thoughtful of mind, virtuous of soul, and able to develop meaningful human relationships. A classical, liberal arts education aims, then, to direct students to what it means to be human and how to live a life that seeks to serve the higher things. In doing this, a liberal arts education stays true to its name, an education that makes one free: free from the oppression of ignorance, the enslavement of their carnal passions, and the vain pursuits that are not worthy of their time and affection.
